Peter Roe is a prize winning performance poet, artistic, autistic, computer geek and technology nerd. A former Bard of Dorchester, now Grand Bard (Sept 2024) and host of Jawbone @ The Poet Laureate, Jawbone Online and Bridport spoken word night Apothecary. Founder, Managing Director, Editor and Publisher for The Jawbone Collective.

During the last few years Peter's flash fiction and poetry has been widely anthologised in print (Siren Poets, Despite Knowing, Parents Like Us, A Jurassic Omnibus, Green Words) and featured online (I Am Not A Silent Poet, Three Drops From a Cauldron, Ampersand).
Peter was Highly Commended and runner up in the Hedgehog Press ‘Full Fat Poetry Collection’ competition with his forthcoming volume “It's About Time”. Short listed and runner up for the Blandford Poetry Prize, Runner up Bridport Short Story Slam, runner up in Spork's "Worst Poet Wins "Exeter Comedy Festival 2024, Finalist in Apples and Snakes South-West Slam, long listed in the poetry prize 2023 and 2024, and ‘Writing Without Limits’ 2017 for The Yeovil Literary Prize, winner of The Western Gazette Best Local Writer.
Peter has three published collections of poetry.‘Technology Bytes Back’ (2018); “I’m in Love with My Barista” (2019) published as a companion volume to the fringe show 'Jawbone'; "Love Hertz" was published by The Jawbone Collective in February 2023; also a novella - Odin and The Mead of Poetry - published by Wessex Media, February 2023.
Peter appeared in BridFringe 'Six-Pack' in 2018. He co-produced and performed in the Fringe show ‘Jawbone’ (2019) with Tom Rogers. (Bridport, Shaftesbury & Buxton). Peter has been a headliner at Cherry Poets (Melbourne), Poetika, The Platform, Word Makers Silence Breakers, Taking The Mic, Poetic License, Word Stir, WonderZoo and Taking The Mic. He has performed at many literary, fringe and summer festival events including Budleigh Salterton, Teignmouth, Yeovil, Totnes, Paignton, Crediton, Plymouth, Southhampton, Frome, Buxton, Shaftesbury, Exeter, Plymouth, Bridport, Earthkin at The Ancient Technology Centre, Figglefest, The Yarty Party, Lyme Regis Folk Festival, The Woodford Folk Festival (Australia), and The Big Green Gathering.
Peter organised and compered a Jawbone Poetry Showcase for Plymouth Poetry Festival 2024 featuring six published 'Jawbone' poets. He has worked on arts council sponsored events for ‘Wonderzoo’, ‘The Windrose Trust’ and ‘Dorset Museums’ as a facilitator and host/compere. Peter was a member of the Dorset Writers Group. ‘Storytraders’ for eight years and co-published a volume of short fiction and poetry with Storytraders through Wessex Media in December 2022 entitled "A Jurassic Omnibus". Peter was elevated to the position of Grand Bard of Dorchester in September 2024 and will administer The Bardic Seat of Caer Dur until Summer 2029.
